After four months of showering at the pool, gym or various neighbours, we finally have a shower room!! and it is fantastic, life has improved another 100%! Apart from that, in between the endless socialising, parties, BBQs etc over Christmas and the New Year we've been doing more of the cladding on the outside. Our neighbours' parents were also somehow roped into spending a day working for us putting up insulation and helping with the gib (plasterboard). And finally the summer is here so we can well and truly throw open all the windows! Meanwhile Ben is become quite the hunter - shooting down hare, rabbit and quail. We've had to buy a freezer in preparation for the venison and wild pork he's aiming for!
Located near Nelson in New Zealand, the paddock measures three acres with a stream running through it, views to the mountains, forests and farmland, with the only noise to break the peace being the sheep next door. A former tobacco growing region, the valley and surrounding hills are now known for blackcurrents, hops, apples, olives and vineyards. Our little plot was originally owned by Thomas Eden in 1862, who built the cottage and farmed cattle on the land. We are planning to build our dream home here!
