I

can't believe it's been three months since the last post. We have made progress but probably not as much as we would like. Ben has spent a long time preparing the outside walls for cladding, which is a labour-intensive task involving measuring, lining up, cutting wood, nailing, screwing etc. Then with the help of Zafir they managed to make some progress on screwing on the external cladding - aerated concrete. Unfortunately it is definitely a two man job as although aerated concrete, the panels are still too heavy for my (Donna) muscles! With Ben being offered a job with Tasman District Council as a Building Consents Office it gave us the readies to get in the pros, and with Ben trying to stay ahead of them, they managed to clad almost half of the house in the larger panels in a couple of days. With Ben working full time now, and the nights closing in at 6pm his time has been reduced drastically, but he is doing what he can to finish the framing and prep so we can get the Hebel boys back to finish off the cladding and make us completely watertight in time for winter. Then Ben can focus on the gib (plasterboard) and insulation of the main rooms.
